Gamagara Substation

Zeal Engineering Consultants (Pty) Ltd was appointed to build a new 2 x 40MVA 132/11kV Gamagara Substation on the Western side of Kathu town in Northern Cape. The proposed Gamagara 132/11kV substation will be able to handle the proposed 40MVA firm supply request. The dependencies will be constructing a 132kV LILO Line. The project will include the following: 

 

• Install 2 x 132kV Line bays

• Install Sectionalized Tubular Busbar

• Install 2 x 40 MVA 132/11kV transformer bays

• Construct a fully equipped control room

• Civil works (fence, stone, signs, lighting etc.)

• Install the necessary control technology.

• Trenching for customer cables (solo) up to 1,5m outside fence

• One additional terminal structure.

• Oil holding dam and storm water drainage.

• MV cable trenches.
